Wernor Herzog is a documentarian, he’s directed critically acclaimed films such as “Encounters At the End of the World”, “Grizzly Man”, and “Into the Abyss”. I find him to be an influence because he observes in an introspective way. The audience becomes emotionally in touch with the story. Every one of Herzog’s films intrigues me, he is a perplexing figure and is an excellent director.
I’m also influenced by many comedians like Adam Carolla, Todd Glass, and Marc Maron, Adam Carolla for example, has a pessimistic view of the world but his opinion is tough to argue with. I feel the comedian’s I follow have a unique perspective of the world.
Some auteurs such as Martin Scorsese, Terrence Malick, The Coen Brothers, David Fincher, Errol Morris, Wernor Herzog, and Christopher Nolan are influential in my filmmaking career.
Some influential books are Invisible Man, Malcolm X, Siddhartha, and The Giver
